Paediatric First Aid Courses for Schools & Nurseries
Within the EYFS, all Level 2 and Level 3 Staff are required to have an Emergency Paediatric First Aid or a Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate if they are to count towards the Staff-Qualification Ratios recommended in the EYFS.
For schools, under the Health and safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, employers must provide adequate and appropriate:
- first aid equipment
- first aid facilities
- first aid personnel.
Employers are not legally obliged to provide first aid for anyone other than their own employees but schools have legal responsibilities for those in their care and should consider carefully the likely risks to pupils and visitors, and make allowance for them when drawing up policies and determining the appropriate training and numbers of first aid personnel.
