Loch Health carried out Wellness checks for a Police Force in the North of England. The team met one seemingly healthy 36 year old officer who they identified, as a result of the tests, as being severely at risk of a heart attack or stroke, potentially fatal unless preventative measures were put in place immediately. The officer is now receiving medication after consulting his GP.
According to the British Heart Foundation, the average recovery time from a heart attack is three months, with a further three months to get back to working full time. If you consider that the salary of a police officer with five years’ experience is £30,950, this could cost the Police Force around £10,000 per officer which could increase to £30,000 to cover the total absence costs incurred per officer.
However, more important is the officer’s life has been potentially saved ………..that is priceless.
